Experience three hours full of concentration, creativity, and joy in crafting. All that’s up to you: enjoy the evening to the fullest and freely dive into the play with lino and colors.

• Welcome
  • Arrive 15 minutes early, we will prepare everything, and you can immediately enjoy a welcome drink.
• Basics of Linocut
  • First, we’ll briefly familiarize ourselves with the history, materials, and processes. We will explain the principle of relief printing and how to design a motif so it stands out in black and white or color variations.
• Design Preparation
  • Using a pencil or transfer paper, you’ll try transferring your design to the lino surface. We’ll focus on the play of contrasts and the fact that the final print will be a mirror image.
• Carving and Test Printing
  • We will try different types of gouges and techniques for carving lines and surfaces. During the process, we will continuously check the carved areas with test prints.
• Final Print and Adjustments
  • Once you're satisfied, we’ll apply the ink with a roller to the linocut and make a print on special paper. While the image dries, we’ll discuss how the print can be enhanced with colored underpainting or watercolor.
• Final Touch
  • Finally, you will frame your completed linocut in a passe-partout and take home your successful artwork, which can decorate your interior or serve as a meaningful gift.

The most fun part of creating comes when you pick up the gouge and start carving the outlines and details of your motif into the lino. You’ll discover the magic of various cuts and how you can achieve perfect results with test prints throughout the process. We’ll guide you and answer all your questions about the linocut technique.

The Finale: Printing and Elegant Finishing

After completing and carefully testing, you'll experience a unique moment: applying the final layer of ink and the print itself. You’ll see how each detail is transferred into the print and how your work becomes a finished piece of art. Finally, we’ll discuss options for framing, passe-partout, and other adjustments so you can take home a piece ready for proud display or to delight your loved ones.
